After Stanhope had elected to bat after winning the toss in the showdown at Moama, Rushworth’s bowlers seized the momentum with early wickets and supported by slick fielding maintained their dominance to roll Stanhope for just 44 runs in 28.1 overs.
Only Kian Verrall stood between Rushworth and an even more dominant win.
Batting first drop, Verrall kept the Rushworth bowlers at bay for the remainder of the Stanhope innings, finishing with a dour, unbeaten 25 off 82 balls.
Four Stanhope batsmen failed to get off the mark and another four failed to make more than two in the batting surrender.
Declan Baldwin with 3-18 off six overs led the Rushworth bowling onslaught but had plenty of support with Heath Ogden, Dean Shepperd, Kade Dearing and Charlie McLean all picking up a wicket.
Rushworth batters easily reached Stanhope’s total in just 13.4 overs.

In reply Rushworth took just 13.4 overs to claim the silverware, with reliable and experienced openers Brett Pateman (20) and Peter Raglus (9 not out) taking their side to within two runs of victory with a 43-run stand.
‘‘We didn’t miss any chances in the field, which was a big help,’’ Raglus said after the game.
It was Rushworth’s fourth flag in this competition, with 2017, 2018 and last year also premiership years for the team.
