The Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club is proposing a Wednesday evening mixed competition, with players asked to be at the courts by 6pm.
Registrations are open now, with more female players required if the format is going to succeed.
Club president Harley Moore said the competition is intended to be an all doubles structure, with each player playing three sets.
“We want to get a few more ladies along so that the mixed set match ups can go ahead,” Moore said.
“We had some new players last competition, and we have a few new ladies lining up this comp, but a few more are required.”
While preparations for the competition continues, locals are reminded of the Wednesday night ‘hit-ups’ from 6pm each week, under lights on the artificial courts. All players are asked to attend.
The Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club’s facilities in Charlotte St include 18 courts (lawn and artificial) plus lights.
“The courts are in outstanding nick coming out of the winter months, and line marking and nets will be set out after the long weekend.”
Registrations for the spring mixed competition will close on October 10.
