Section 2 KLTC defeated Tatura Hurricanes 10-76 to 0-37.
Playing a depleted Tatura Hurricanes, Kyabram completely obliterated the opposition right across the board.
Regan Moore and Mitch Cox kick-started proceedings taking their men’s singles 6-0 and 6-2 respectively.
In the doubles, Moore and Justin Wearne produced an 8-6 win with Greg Tarrant and Wearne combining extremely well with an 8-2 scoreline.
Not to be outdone, the Kyabram ladies, although not having everything their own way, took all three ladies doubles.
Abby Prycroft and Jade Christoe had a well earned 8-6 win with the other two ladies’ doubles going Kyabram’s way 8-7.
In the last three mixed, Kyabram conceded only five out of a possible 24 games to send the Tatura home team marching back to the clubhouse.
Section 3 Bombers defeated Tatura Tornadoes 8-76 to 5-60 games.
Playing the highly fancied Tatura Tornadoes on home soil last Saturday, the Bombers’ totally redeemed themselves from the previous week producing a 16-game win that will go down as their “best team performance this year”.
The KLTC women, from the first service, let their opponents know that they had come out to play.
Taking all four ladies doubles, the KLTC foursome set up their team’s winning scoresheet with a comprehensive brand of tennis.
Young Meg McConnell was the standout performer on the day with two 8-0s partnering Aleisha Cunningham and her mum, the experienced Justine McConnell.
Meg McConnell’s determination and much improved stroke play were excellent signs for not only her but the Bombers.
The other two ladies doubles were decisive wins to Alyssa Christoe and Justine McConnell 8-5 with Christoe then teaming up with Cunningham for a commanding 8-3 win.
The Kyabram men had a tough day at the office taking only one men’s set.
In another impressive singles display, Will Worsfold continued on his merry way with a resounding 6-0 victory.
Worsfold’s overall improvement since the commencement of the season has been very well noticed by all opposition teams.
The biggest and most pleasing result for the Bombers on Saturday was their their mixed set wins.
The only set they conceded was 7-8.
In what has been the Tornadoes’ major strength throughout the season, the KLTC Bombers turned the tables with a dominant brand of mixed with the men stepping up to support their accomplished ladies mixed partners.
Now sitting fifth on the ladder and depending on opposition teams scores on Saturday, the Bombers could quite possibly be only one or two games outside the four.
If they can produce the same brand of tennis which was evident on Saturday, the Bombers could, very much, have a big say when finals come around.
Section 3 KLTC Redbacks defeated Cobram 7-83 games to 6-71.
The KLTC Redbacks are now sitting on “top of the ladder” with a hard fought 12 game win over their highly respected Cobram opponents.
The highly credentialled Tom Schumann pulled his racquet out the cupboard and let all who stood in his way know that he is still a formidable opponent.
Schumann finished the day with a forceful 6-1 in the singles, a powerful 8-2 in the doubles with the experienced Col McKay and a telling mixed 8-5 mixed result with the very reliable Lauren Bennett.
Tyler Schade fought hard in his singles just getting pipped 4-6 in a tough encounter.
In the men’s doubles, Schumann and McKay’s was the only win recorded.
The Redback women again dominated throughout the afternoon, not dropping a set.
Marg Haw and Sonia McCraw led the way with a comfortable 8-4.
Lauren Bennet, in another standout performance, produced an 8-6 win with young “junior tennis star” Tayla Starling and then a very strong 8-2 with Marg Haw.
Sonya McCraw and Tayla Starling completed the “whitewash” with a comprehensive 8-5 scoreline.
Although KLTC only took one mixed, 8-5 to Schumann and Bennett, it recorded enough games to hold off the fast finishing Cobram.

KLTC will again be staging one of the most successful Easter tournaments held in Victoria in the annual tennis calendar.
The success of our clubs “FLAGSHIP” event has only occurred over the course of the last 30 years due to the unselfish support of club members, incredible sponsors and the Kyabram Community as a whole.
Over the course of the next few weeks, club committee members will be making contact with all club members to invite them to not only compete in this three-day event, but also, to put up their hand to volunteer, in some small way, on any day of this event.
