Stanhope lost two wickets in claiming the premiership points against Fire Brigade, restricted to 79 with Brenton Sheppard’s 22 the top score.
Shannon Aynsley with 3-13 was the pick of the Stanhope bowlers.
Skipper Brad Stewart spearheaded Stanhope’s run chase with an unbeaten 55 as the home side rounded up The Flames’ score in 25 overs for the loss of two wickets.
· Echuca took only 17.4 overs at a cost of four wickets to round up BLU’s score of 84 due mainly to a knock of 47 from opener Connor Shannon.
· Rushworth had a decisive win over Elmore with Josh Francis starring with the bat with a half-century in his team’s score of 8-163.
Francis hit five fours and two sixes.
In reply, Elmore was bundled out for 116 with opener Matt Gilmour with 48 the mainstay.
· Hamish Hooppell steered Colbinabbin to victory over Moama with a dashing knock of 94 not out which included 10 fours and six sixes.
Colbo lost both openers for ducks chasing Moama’s 9-152, but Hooppell and Sam Ryan, who made 41, were up to the challenge.
Division 2
Led by opener Russ Napier’s fine knock off 66, Kade Hipwell with 40 and Arch Backway’s 37 Cooma posted a winning score of 7-208 from its 40 overs against Moama.
In reply Moama struggled to reach 106 with Sam Barbagallo with 3-22 the most successful Cooma bowler.
· Chasing LG’s 9-143 Girgarre was skittled in 24.4 overs for 70 with Blake Watts making 39 of this score in which no other batter reached double figures.
· Echuca South didn’t lose a wicket chasing down Nondies Cohuna’s score of 77 with openers Noah Densley (38 not out) and David White (24 not out) delivering the 10-wicket win in 10.2 overs.
· Tongala came up well short chasing Rochester’s 7-198, dismissed for 101 in 29.1 overs.
Travis Johnstone with 37 and Zeke Neumann (22) were the only Tongala bats to offer any resistance.
· Echuca didn’t lose a wicket covering Nondies Cohuna’s score of 9-77.
C-GRADE
Openers Barry McLeod with an unbeaten 64 and Sam Vick with 39 batted Fire Brigade to a win over Cooma in 20.3 overs.
Bailey Hiscock with 35 and veteran opener Roger French helped Cooma reach a respectable 5-137, but Vick and McLeod’s 108-run opening stand delivered the win for The Flames.
· Stanhope took only 13.3 overs to cover Echuca South’s score of 6-106 with opener Wade Foley showing the way with a hard-hitting 60 which included 12 boundaries.
· Elmore fell for 81 in 24.3 overs against BLU which lost six wickets in securing a win in 20.4 overs.
Opener Aaron Juffs scored 33 of Elmore’s score.
D-GRADE
Half-centuries to Jayke Fisher and Kean Verrall and 27 from Ollie Stewart produced a winning score of 5-165 for Rushworth against Fire Brigade, restricted to 7-136 despite a half-century from Antonio Depasquale.
· Half-centuries to Anthony Newman and Andrew Reid and 49 from Glen Chantler enabled Tongala to post an impressive 227 against Moama, skittled for 69 in 20.3 overs in reply with Chantler completing a good day with 4-23 off six overs.
· Echuca’s 8-185 proved out of reach for BLU, restricted to 5-136.
