The Victorian Women’s Autumn Tournament was held at Shepparton Golf Club across Monday and Tuesday, with a Shepparton gun catching the eye on day one.
Kim Morris led the field as the sun set on Monday having shot two over par in her first round.
Morris led second-placed Geraldine O’Callaghan from Southern Golf Club by four strokes as play restarted on Tuesday.
Shepparton Golf Club’s next best representation was Lynley Eadie — who was leading the tournament on stableford points after day one — and Alison Keogh who both sat tied 27th on 20 over par.
Morris bettered her first round by one stroke on day two with 74 shots, finishing the tournament on a miserly three over par to secure an impressive victory.
Shepparton’s master club wielder dominated her competition as Morris romped to a seven-stroke win over next-best Helen Pascoe from Buninyong Golf Club.
The tournament had a strong turnout as 140 competitors took part, with 19 Shepparton Golf Club members featuring.
Other golf clubs from the region were also well represented with players from Tocumwal, Numurkah, Seymour, Kyabram Valley View and Kyabram Parkland having competitors in the contest.
News photographer Rechelle Zammit was busy at the Shepparton Golf Club tee boxes taking snaps of the action on Monday afternoon.
