Young English import Louis Sabbagh-Holt breathed new life into Kyabram’s finals chances with a match-winning performance on the second day of its Cricket Shepparton clash with Central Park St Brendan’s on Saturday.

In the clash on a turning wicket at Shepparton’s Deakin Reserve, the 19-year-old Sabbagh-Holt struck early, taking the first five wickets to fall with his left-arm orthodox spinners.
Youthful Kyabram ’keeper Ethan Hart stumped both Tyler Larkin (for 10) and Jarrod Wakeling (for seven), two of CPSB’s main batting hopes, off Sabbagh-Holt, who also caught and bowled Rhiley Lau, who top scored with 34.
Charlie McLay broke Sabbagh-Holt’s run of wickets before Tom Holman got some deserved luck claiming the last two CPSB wickets including that of Jack McCarten, who top scored for the home side with an aggressive 49 (including seven fours and a six).
Kyabram batted a second time and after reaching 2/41, CPSB hoisted the white flag.
This Saturday, Kyabram travels to Katandra to take on the reigning premier and current second rung holder in another must win game to keep its finals hopes alive.
Saturday’s win moves Kyabram to eighth place on the Haisman Shield ladder with a 3-4 win-loss record.
Kyabram’s B grade side is on top of the ladder after Jason Parsons led it to decisive first innings win over CPSB on Saturday.
In reply to the visitors score of 125, Parsons with 98 and Jason Leocata with 69 shared a 171 second wicket stand and set up Kyabram’s winning score of 7/219.
Kyabram’s E grade side completed a hat-trick of wins on the day for the club with a seven-wicket win over Mooroopna.
The Kyabram bowlers restricted Mooroopna to 6/129.
This score was was covered by Kyabram in 20.4 overs as skipper Marc Coates showed the way with a brisk 61, which included eight fours and three sixes.
He dominated an opening stand of 91 with Kristian Chambers (16) before Riley Morris chipped in with an unbeaten 28 to execute the win.
