Woman picked up drug driving, unlicensed and in an unregistered car

A drug driver also did not have a valid driver’s licence when she was stopped by police, a court has heard.

Jaymee-Lee Waugh, 23, of Shepparton, was charged with drug driving, unlicensed driving and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Her charges were heard in her absence in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard she tested positive for cannabis when she was drug tested by police after being pulled over in Rowe St, Shepparton, at 9.50pm on May 13.

She was also unable to produce a driver’s licence.

Prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Chris Cole said Waugh admitted to police that she did not have a licence and told them VicRoads had given her permission to go straight to a full licence, but checks with VicRoads said this was not true.

Her vehicle’s registration had also expired six months earlier.

Waugh was fined $900, and was disqualified from driving for six months.
