Most local schools are located in the NSW western division.
Term one officially starts on Friday, February 7, but the NSW Department of Education has designated the first four days as staff development days.
This will allow teachers to prepare for the year ahead.
Children will start to return to the classroom from February 13, but as some have gradual starts for certain age groups it is always best to check directly with the school you have chosen for your child.
Eastern division schools - which include Mayrung and Blighty primary schools, and those located in the Southern Riverina regions of Berrigan Shire and Murrumbidgee - return to school one week earlier.
It’s back to the classroom on Thursday, February 6, with staff development days scheduled for the four weekdays preceding.
Term one will conclude for both divisions on April 11, and return on April 30.
This is after both Easter and Anzac Day, and two more staff development days.
For those who attend school across the border, term one in Victoria begins either Tuesday, January 28 or Wednesday, January 29 - depending on your school.
Term one in Victoria concludes on April 4, with students returning for term on April 22.
