Warramunda expansion bolstered by successful year

News of an exciting expansion at Warramunda Village has been complemented by a reported successful operating profit in the 2023-24 financial year.

Warramunda has announced a 2024 operating profit of $371,000 — an improvement from 2022-23 when a deficit of $2.5 million was reported.

It is a nice touch to cap the year before the aged care facility enters redevelopment to make room for 12 new suites.

The redevelopment is in line with a five-year strategic plan to add an extra 30 beds before 2030.

Following the announcement of its successful financial year, Warramunda chief executive John Clark said he was excited to get the redevelopment under way.

“This result has been achieved as a result of some hard work by a dedicated group of people,” Mr Clark said.

Since taking up his role in 2021, Mr Clark has led the strategic plan to expand Warramunda, starting with the redevelopment of the existing 82-bed facility to allow for the extra 12 suites.

The expansion, expected to be completed by the end of 2025, will include a new hair salon and a physiotherapy studio in addition to the 12 beds.

Warramunda chief finance officer Jessica Scheidat said the operating margin was helped by strong occupancy levels.

“Further expansion of our care delivery will be the focus for the next 12 months as we head into the next phases of the five-year plan,” Ms Scheidat said.
