It was a stormy night on November 26 and early next morning, particularly in Mulwala and many calls for assistance resulting in emergency service people from Corowa on the job in Mulwala early on November 27.
“Our phone was ringing a lot and we had seven members down in Mulwala with chainsaws by 6.00am,” Corowa Rescue Squad Controller Jim Walliss said.
“There were plenty of branches down – some big ones and whole of trees – especially in Wanani Road and Wandoo Court blocking driveways and roads.”
Mulwala residents very much appreciated the quick and effective response from our emergency personnel who worked several hours sawing and clearing the way for motorists.
