Former Devenish footballer and cricketer Tim Roadley will spend his Good Friday on the tarmac between Devenish and Dookie as he raises money for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Roadley, who played 200 games for the now-defunct Devenish as well as cricket for Devenish Goorambat and Dookie College, said he would run the 22km and “if I am feeling good I might even go past Dookie College to make it closer to 30km”.
“The Royal Children's Hospital, Devenish and Dookie has played a large part in the life of my wife and myself and now is a perfect time to do a run,” he said.
“The Good Friday Appeal relies on the support of the community to raise funds to ensure that The Royal Children's Hospital is able to continue to provide world class care to patients and their families.
“Thirty-seven years ago I started my degree at Dookie College and since then I have found a new home in the North East of Victoria, meeting my wife Jacqui at Dookie College and building our first home between Devenish and Dookie.
“So now it is time to do something that I don't think anyone has done before.”
Roadley has already raised $1100. Go to fundraise.goodfridayappeal.com.au/fundraisers/timroadley to donate.
