“We had our inaugural festival in 2022, and it was a roaring success,” Stanhope Food and Wine Festival committee member Christine Dicketts said.
“This again led to a successful festival in 2023, and our hopes are high for 2024.
“We had over 750 people and just the perfect weather; it was a lovely day.
“All in the main street of Stanhope.
“We blocked off the street and had picket fences from the shire, and with the artificial grass, it just looked terrific.”
Now a mainstay of the Campaspe event calendar, the festival brings the community together and highlights the region’s excellent food offerings.
The festival will come alive with music and tunes from JB & Me and June Newman.
Fiona Hansford will be hosting a cooking demonstration at 11.45am.
Delights to be dined upon include Dairy-Fresh Gelato, G-free donuts, Brothyn Ramen Japanese food, Vegetari-Yum gourmet spring rolls, a coffee cart, Smokin Barrells American BBQ, Oh My Ceylon Sri Lankan, Girgarre and Stanhope Fire Brigade barbecue, Angelo’s Pizza and Pasta, Stanhope Cafe, That Sweet Chef, Armstrong’s Rivers Edge Olive Oil and Timmering Food & Beverage Co and grazing platters and cheese.
The coffee will be fresh, and wine will be available.
Wineries Ned Kelly Red & Callipari Wines, Strathbogie Estate Winery, Shiraz Republic and Broken River Vineyards will all be there to share a drop or two.
You can pick up local olive oil and herbs at the stalls selling local produce.
Children’s entertainment includes face painting, horse and cart rides, Tiny Tales Reptiles, a jumping castle, craft zone, plaster painting, windmill making, colouring and chalk activities.
Entry to the Celebrate Stanhope Food and Wine Festival is a gold coin donation.
No dogs, and the event is a glass-free and smoke-free event.
Stanhope Food and Wine Festival is on at Birdwood St, Stanhope, on Sunday, October 6, from 11am to 4pm.
