Shepparton’s Mark Niglia will be among the major artists exhibiting their work at Sculptures in the Garden 2023, a premier art event in Mudgee, NSW.
Mr Niglia, who creates life-size sculptures using distorted metals, charred wood and fragmented concrete, will join acclaimed Australian artist Mela Cooke and other renowned and award-winning artists from across the country.

Mr Niglia has a solo exhibition at Tallis Wines in Dookie and has displayed his work at various local vineyards, public areas and events throughout country Victoria.
He is driven by the desire to communicate emotion and capture the movement and life of horses.
He uses the energy of the materials he uses to create shapes and lines that portray his vision.

“I am honoured to be part of Sculptures in the Garden 2023 and to share my work with fellow creators, art enthusiasts and the local community,” Mr Niglia said.
“This event is a great opportunity to showcase the diversity and creativity of Australian sculpture and to connect with people who appreciate art and nature.”
Sculptures in the Garden is an annual outdoor sculpture exhibition set amid the captivating landscapes of the Rosby Wines gardens in Mudgee.
The event draws thousands of visitors from across the nation and features more than 250 sculptures from emerging local talents to established names.

The two-week event also promises a host of activities, including guided tours, sculpture workshops, live music and a selection of Mudgee’s finest food and wine.
Sculptures in the Garden founder and curator Kay Norton-Knight said she was delighted to have artists such as Mr Niglia and Ms Cooke joining this year’s event.
“The entries so far are a wonderful array of beautifully crafted works, in all different sizes and mediums, from steel to paper,” Ms Norton-Knight said.

“We always aim to celebrate the vast talent and creativity in Australia, and having artists of such standing joining us this year will undoubtedly elevate the experience for our visitors and fellow artists.”
Sculptures in the Garden 2023 will take place from October 7 to 22, with more than 4000 people expected to visit the event.
Last year more than 65 per cent of works from the exhibition were sold, earning more than $285,000 for Sculptures in the Garden’s community of artists.
More than $15,000 was also raised for the local branch of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT.
