Rushworth Field and Game are continuing their hollow replacement program, putting up parrot nest boxes at the Rushworth Public Park known as the Ironbark stadium.
As the cricket season starts and the Rushworth Football Netball Club are continuing their rebuilding for the 2025 season, it would only be fitting to paint the boxes in the tiger’s colours.
Rushworth Field and Game continue to work with local landowners and other organisations to provide safe nesting areas for our native wildlife.
“We are looking forward to more success from these boxes,” conservation officer Graeme Wall said
“Although, not the recommended colours by some nest box traditionalists, we hope the tiger’s colours are well received by the parrots in the park.”
As locals exercise themselves and their pets around the park, they will hopefully be able to view the parrots utilising the boxes over the next few months.
This is a further improvement to the park following on from the work done by club members to the previous tennis clubrooms.
Rushworth Public Park trust president Peter Raglus said it is good to see clubs within the park cooperating to improve it for of the community and, of course, our native wildlife.
