Collector’s Club member Daryl Whateley said it’s difficult to predict just how many people will be participating in the two-day event on Saturday and Sunday.
But he did say the displays will include at least 20 vintage caravans and 20 tractors.
“The pavilion is also full of collectables displays, but as for the other sections, it’s hard to tell how many we’ll have until the day arrives,” he said.
“The theme of the weekend this year is Australian made, and many of us will be paying tribute to that in once way or another.
“Rally secretary Helen Baker has done a lot of work to curate a display featuring Australian companies.
“The companies she contacted have given us a lot of information and other materials for the special display.”
Among those participating in the caravan displays will be Garry and Sharon Arnold from the Barossa Valley in South Australia.
They have made the trip to Deni with their 1965 Roadhaven caravan.
Made in Victoria, only 202 of this caravan were ever made.
“It’s considered to be the Rolls Royce of caravans,” Sharon said.
“We’ve has this one for about one and a half years, and bought it from someone in the vintage caravans family,” Garry added.
“I’ve upgraded it a little since then, improving the brakes, re-painting and polishing up the chrome.”
The Arnolds have been coming to the Spring Rally in Deniliquin since 2019, after meeting event committee member and fellow caravan enthusiast Steve Beckwith at a rally in Bridgewater.
“We keep coming back because we like it here in Deni,” Sharon said.
“It’s a nice trip, and we get to see people we have a common interest with that we might not have seen for a year,” Garry added.
The Spring Rally offers a delightful array of vintage and collectable items, ensuring a memorable weekend of discovery for families and enthusiasts alike.
See stationary engines at work, shop the trade stalls, or just peruse the varied collections.
Sunday will also include a dedicated car show and shine competition.
For just $5 per person per day, you can access this fascinating world.
As is tradition, the weekend also includes the Tractor Trek.
Tractors will depart Memorial Park about 9am Saturday morning and will first head toward Moonacullah before making their way to Pretty Pine for lunch.
They will then return to Memorial Park via North Deniliquin and through the town centre in the afternoon.
