Victorian police have charged two people in relation to a string of alleged burglaries, including one in Cobram, in the state’s north-east over the past month.
On Wednesday, December 4, detectives from the Cobram, Wangaratta, Benalla and Wodonga crime investigation units executed three search warrants on three addresses in Wodonga.
As a result, a 20-year old man from Tallygaroopna and a 37 year-old Wodonga woman were taken in to custody.
The 20-year-old man faces multiple charges relating to an alleged burglary at Roberts Jewellers on Bank St last Friday morning, November 29, including burglary and theft. The male appeared in Wodonga Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, December 5, and was further remanded to appear in Wodonga Magistrates’ Court on December 18.
The 37-year-old woman was charged with two counts of burglary and theft, handling stolen goods and possession of a handgun. The woman was bailed and is set to appear at Wodonga Magistrates’ Court on March 25, 2025.
Police also seized stolen property, drugs including cannabis and methamphetamines, weapons including a double-edged sword, knives and a handgun, alongside other evidence relating to a series of alleged burglaries within the north-east of the state over the past month.
