After a year spent in and out of remote learning conditions, students made the most of their final day spent on campus with all grades dressed to the nines in Christmas gear, complete with Santa hats, sparkles and a flood of red and green.
Along with a range of Christmas games and fun, the kids had a whole school party and a barbecue to finish off the year, as well as some classroom cleaning.
Staff member Belinda Turpin said the day was a great way for the kids to finish off the year, especially with what is set to be a big one in 2022.
“The students have been so great considering everything that’s happened this year, it’s been a relatively settled and smooth transition coming back to school,” she said.
“We are losing a great group of leaders this year who will be very missed, but we’re looking forward to some new experiences for next year.”
The school is introducing a new out-of-school care program for students through the state government, giving students the opportunity to be a part of art, cooking, sports and other classes as part of it.
The School’s Out program will provide before- and after-school care providing healthy breakfasts and afternoon teas, as well as offering holiday programs.
“We think it’ll be really helpful for parents in the area and for the kids to be a part of,” Ms Turpin said.
