The newly turned 18-year-old is looking forward to a bright future ahead of studying a double degree in law and global studies at Monash University in Melbourne’s East.
“It felt like the days leading up to it went really slowly, but I’m really happy,” Greta said.
“I think it exceeded what I was after, I was hoping for over 90 but didn’t know if I would actually get it.”
The high score has secured the Kyabram local a spot in the Monash course with the university’s guaranteed entry scheme, with Greta scraping past the guaranteed entry score of 94.
With five years of study ahead, Greta is keen to get straight into it at Monash University to one day work in human rights law.
Studying English, further maths, legal studies, Australian history and health and human development, Greta said her time at St Augustine’s had been memorable.
“This year obviously has been challenging, but teachers were flexible and helped us to get through periods of remote learning and really supported us,” Greta said.
Greta is one of four St Augustine’s students to receive an ATAR score above 80, along with Liana Barbagallo, Harrison Shortis and Jackson Bray.
Community Leader of students in years 9 to 12 Brad Downie said the College proudly congratulated all VCE and VCAL students on receiving their results.
“After two years in which they experienced the challenges of lockdowns and extended periods of remote learning, our students can feel very proud of their achievements, in successfully completing their VCE and VCAL studies,” he said.
“The Year 12s are now looking forward to the next stage of their lives, with many students already successful in gaining apprenticeships, traineeships and employment or early round offers for tertiary studies, while others now patiently wait for offers of tertiary placements. Congratulations to all of our 2021 Year 12 cohort!”
