Taking out the top ATAR score at the college, 17-year-old Jamieson was thrilled with her results, although quite shocked.
“Obviously with COVID and stuff I got really unmotivated and behind, I wasn’t sure if I would get what I needed to go to university,” she said.
“Considering how challenging the past two years have been, I’m pretty happy with how it went.”
Studying English, maths, health and human development, psychology and previously fast-tracking business and legal studies, Jamieson had plenty of options available for future studies.
Jamieson is hoping to go to Monash University in Melbourne’s east to study a degree in business, with ambitions to then land a head-office role in the fashion or beauty industry.
Carrying on the P-12 College tradition, being the dux meant Jamieson was gifted a school trophy of a duck, engraved with her name, to mark the achievement, but for the McKenzies this won’t be the first duck gracing the family’s home, with Jamieson’s brother having been dux three years prior.
Learning Community Leader for year 10, 11 and 12 students Louise Mellington said the school was extremely proud of the dedication the students showed in the past two years.
“It’s been difficult but the students have really come through, we’re very pleased with the results this year,” she said.
Dux runner up for 2021 at P-12 College was Tanner Besim, who is also looking to attend Monash University.
