On their first day back, students were treated with access to a free coffee van, while the Year 12 study area was packed with a variety of food and beverages.
Kyabram P-12 College chaplain Liz Spicer said the months away and general uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic had taken a toll on the students, and it was important to provide them as much support as they needed.
“Usually I just do the coffee van for the Year 12s but this time we did it for the whole school just to welcome them back,” she said.
“It’s been lovely to see the older ones easing back into their studies.
“It has been quite a big year for them in particular, so we’ll continue to support them and their families.”
Ms Spicer said chaplaincy had been kept busy during the past few months despite the school being without its students.
“I’ve still been talking to people with anxiety about coronavirus. I’ve still been counselling students out of school over the phone,” she said.
