The Moama Lions Club is gearing up for its annual Carols by Candlelight event, set to take place on Sunday, December 8 at the Kerrabee Soundshell in Moama.

This cherished tradition, which has been spreading Yuletide joy for over three decades, promises a festive evening brimming with music and merriment.
In an effort to spruce up this year’s carols, the Moama Lions Club has joined forces with Dillmac Entertainment for a Christmas carols spectacular.
Dillmac Entertainment principal teacher Liz Dillon, who will don the MC hat for the event, shared her enthusiasm.
“We’re absolutely thrilled. The kids will be decked out in their Christmas shirts, and the entertainment is going to be spectacular, alongside all the fantastic Lions Club activities,” she said.
The festivities kick off at 5pm with a classic Lions sausage sizzle, hot chips and refreshing drinks.
For those with a sweet tooth, treats from Port Ice Creamery, Let’s do Coffee, and The Donut Man will be on offer.
The carols begin at 6pm, featuring performances by Dillmac Entertainment students, Vivid’s ‘Silent Voices’, Katie Stroud, Jefferson Smith and the Moama Anglican Grammar Choir.

“Our core group of about 25 students from Dillmac Kyabram and Echuca will be performing,” Liz said.
“We’re also thrilled to welcome back Ruby Omen from Brisbane and Harper Avery from Melbourne, both past students, who’ll be joining us on stage.”
The event will showcase 25 musical numbers, including beloved Hi-5 Christmas songs and selections from Elf: The Musical.
“There’ll be singing and dancing on stage, on the grass, and wherever we can squeeze in performers. It’s going to be fantastic,” Liz said.
In a magical twist, Santa Claus himself will make a grand entrance, accompanied by Dillmac students dressed as his merry elves.
The young performers have been rehearsing tirelessly for weeks, their excitement building with each practice session.
“The kids are over the moon about being Santa’s helpers,” Liz said.
“They’ve been perfecting their elf routines and can’t wait to spread some Christmas magic.”
The event has been made possible thanks to the generous support of local sponsors, including Murray River Council, Moama RSL, Moama Bowling Club, Rich River Golf Club, Sophie Hosking Photography, Rich River Party Hire, Bunnings and Coles.
Their contributions have ensured that this beloved community event continues to shine bright.
Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or picnic blankets and join in the carol singing.
The Moama Lions Club will provide programs with song lyrics, which will double as raffle tickets for prizes drawn throughout the night.
