A special honour was recently bestowed on local Vietnam Veteran Ian White, better known as Jim, when he was awarded life membership of the Finley RSL Sub-branch.
Jim joined the sub-branch in 1989 and has been an inspiration to others for 35 years.
He has held several executive positions, namely president, vice president, treasurer, trustee and sub-branch delegate to the Riverina District RSL Board.
Jim has attended both local and regional meetings, co-ordinating events, running services and supporting veterans in that period.
Throughout his tenure, Jim has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and a deep passion for the RSL organisation.
He has presided over many Anzac Day and Remembrance Day services and, on many occasions, has been involved with selling badges and poppies in the lead-up to these commemorative events in a humble and unassuming manner.
Jim was presented with a Certificate of Life Membership by Finley RSL Sub-branch president Jeff Ward at the conclusion of the 2024 Remembrance Day service on Monday.
