Foodbank NSW/ACT will host a food relief and vaccination clinic pop-up on Thursday, November 14, providing fresh and healthy produce at no cost to families in our community dealing with the squeeze that is the cost of living crisis.
MHPN will also be providing free health checks and vaccinations for those interested.
The pop-up event will take place at Deniliquin’s Edward River Oval on Davidson St, from 9.30am on November 14.
The pop-up service reflects the fact that food insecurity is a real and serious problem in Australia, due in large part to the cost of fresh produce and groceries for families.
“We believe everyone should have access to good quality food. We’re here for the everyday Australians who are going without,” Foodbank said.
“We provide food relief to 2,844 front-line charities and 3,379 school breakfast programs. Last year alone, we sourced enough food for 92 million meals.
“In the last 12 months, 3.4 million households in Australia struggled to put food on their table.
Foodbank Australia and their state-based groups are doing the best they can trying to fight hunger in Australia.
In total 676 charities and 139 schools all receive food from Foodbank.
But Foodbank estimates it needs 50 per cent more food to provide enough for all the people seeking assistance.
If you want to access the Foodbank or the MHPN vaccinnation clinic, all you need to do is head along on the day.
