Council offices will shut their doors at 3pm on Tuesday, December 24 and resume operations at 8.15am on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Throughout this period, the council's customer service phone and email channels will be offline.
For pressing matters, residents can dial 5832 9700 and follow the prompts to reach the after-hours service.
The Customer Service Counter will spring back into action on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 9am, maintaining its usual hours of operation.
Residents should note that bin collection days will shift over the holiday period, with no collection occurring on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Regular collection schedules will kick back in from Monday, January 6, 2025.
Riverlinks Venues, including the Box Office, will close from 3pm on Friday, December 20, until 10am on Monday, January 13, 2025.
However, ticket sales will continue online during this time.
The Greater Shepparton Visitor Centre will stick to its regular hours of 9am to 5pm, seven days a week, closing only on Christmas Day.
Shepparton Sports Stadium will shut its doors from 5pm on Friday, December 20, and reopen for casual use at 9am on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Regular programming will resume on January 13.
For those looking to play outside, KidsTown Playground will remain open throughout the school holidays from dawn to dusk.
However, the Dig In Cafe onsite will close from 3pm on Sunday, December 15 until 10am on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
Aquamoves will be closed on Christmas Day but will operate on other days with modified hours.
The Mooroopna, Tatura and Merrigum outdoor pools will also close on Christmas Day, with some modified hours on other days during the holiday period.
The council's Resource Recovery Centres and Cosgrove Landfill will have varied operating hours during the holiday period, with closures on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Emergency after-hours animal management services will be available during the council closure period.
To report an animal emergency, including livestock on council-controlled roads, dog attacks, and injured or sick animals, call 5832 9700 and press one.
For non-emergency animal-related issues, residents are asked to report them when the council office reopens on January 2, 2025.
The Shepparton Animal Shelter will close to the public at noon on Christmas Eve, and reopen at 10am on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Staff will continue to care for animals during this time.
Council long day care and family day care services will close from 5.30pm on Friday, December 20 and reopen to children on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Kindergartens and occasional care will close from Thursday, December 19.
Council encourages families to contact individual services for session close and start dates.
Various other services including maternal and child health services, and Goulburn Valley Libraries will have modified schedules during the holiday period.
