Some new additions to Benalla’s Church St Surgery should make it easier for the community to get an appointment.
Practice Manager Allie Hollins said she was pleased to announce five new registras had been employed, allowing the surgery to be more flexible in booking appointments, with patients able to be seen sooner.
“We have one returning registra (Dr Tim Greentree), and four more,” she said.
Ms Hollins said the additions were very welcome as there had been issues Australia-wide for regional GP clinics to attract and retain staff.
“It has been really hard to get staff, and we haven’t been able to service the community as well as we’d have liked to,” she said.
“We’ve had some appointment times pushed out, for example, but we’re now able to fix that.
“We’re very happy to have Dr Greentree back, he’s been away doing extended training in ICU and anaesthetics.”
As well as Dr Greentree the surgery has welcomed Dr Luke Martin, Dr Liam Sutcliffe, who is visiting from Yarrawonga for the next seven weeks, Dr Tahra Murtagh and Dr Bree Larner.
