WHILE you may not be able to sit down and catch up with your friends and family in person, Burnt Butter is encouraging everyone to ask R U OK? this Thursday, September 10.
As part of R U OK? Day, the café is going yellow to encourage people to check up on one another.
Owner Jess Scoble said now, more than ever, it was important to see how you friends and family are going.
“We’re doing this because I think it’s important to check up on people, and it’s made more difficult at the moment,” she said.
“But we’re giving away envelopes with a piece of paper and an individually wrapped teabag for people to write a message and leave it in a friend’s letterbox when they’re out.
“It’s a socially distanced way for people to check in and enjoy a cuppa.
“We’ve also made a heap of cookies, a couple of hundred cupcakes and the boys have bought yellow ice cream.
“It’s all free — we just want to encourage people to check in with one another.”
Burnt Butter will be giving away the cupcakes, wristbands, biscuits, envelopes, ice cream and more tomorrow as part of R U OK? Day.
Burnt Butter is in the Albion Arcade at Shop 5, 177 Allan St.
