The event will be held on the Edward/Kolety River at Deniliquin from February 7 to 9, with Memorial Park again acting as Challenge HQ.
A charity auction benefiting the nursing home will be hosted on the first night, as part of a larger community fun night.
Challenge coordinator Andrew Jefferies said auction items are still being gathered, with a list to be released soon.
Prizes are also still rolling in for the mega raffle, to be hosted the same night.
You don’t have to be a fishing entrant to participate in either the auction or the raffle, but you must be in attendance on the night to buy and win.
Mr Jefferies said the Friday night activities have been planned specifically to entertain the whole community, not just the entrants of the challenge.
“There will be food trucks, a bar, kids activities, yabby races and more,” Mr Jefferies said of the Friday night schedule.
“The mega raffle is certainly one reason to be there. We already have more than $11,000 in prizes.
“Tickets for this raffle are only available on the night, and you must be there to win.
“The auction for Navorina will follow immediately after.
“Our committee and this event was created to support our community. While one of our primary aims is restocking local waterways and improving their health, we also focus on community projects and organisations too.”
Make sure to also buy your $5 ticket for the major raffle, to be drawn during fishing presentations at HQ on the Sunday afternoon.
You have the chance to win an AnglaPro 354 boat with Yamaha 15hp electric start motor, trailer and safety pack valued at $13,850.
Second prize in the raffle is a Yamaha YFZ50 49cc kids' automatic quad bike valued at $3950.
A second boat prize is up for grabs as part of the weekend's $60,000 prize pool, with all registered anglers eligible to win.
The major entry prize is an AnglaPro STL394 aluminium boat with a Yamaha 25hp motor and Precision boat trailer.
All three major prizes are supplied by Deniliquin Yamaha.
Mr Jefferies said entries for the fishing challenge are looking positive, but he urged anyone wanting to enter to register now.
As a capped event, the remaining tickets won’t last long.
“Our entries have sold out in previous years, and we suggest you get in quick so you don’t miss out,” he said.
“We’re seeing quite a few entries from the Echuca region, and we’ve also got some from Torquay, Warrnambool and the South Coast of New South Wales.
“We know quite a few locals have shown interest in entering, but local entries are lower than we expected at this stage.”
Adult entry in the fishing competition is $155 and juniors under-15 can register for $110. Juniors can enter the adult competition if they pay full price.
The price covers three days of fishing and events, and most meals.
