This B.O.T.A. may not have ranked number two on the Triple J Hottest 100 list, but it certainly is the more wholesome way to spend your Sunday.
All over the world, the feast of St Francis is celebrated in October.
In remembrance of St Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures, animals are led to the churches for a special ceremony called Blessing of the Animals.
Reverend Richard Pennington will do a non-denominational service on Sunday, October 8.
“Animals are a great blessing to us all,” Rev Pennington said.
“Those who have pets love them, provide for them and care for their needs.
“Their presence often helps us get through trying times, so let’s celebrate together.”
Owners and their pets are invited to attend Christ Church Seymour in Anzac Ave at 10am.
Have your favourite animal blessed. All pets, including horses, sheep, rabbits, chickens and even fish, are welcome.
The service will be followed by a sausage sizzle on the church grounds.
There will be no service at Nagambie on Sunday, October 8.
