Facelift for church
The old Wakiti Church at Yambuna is getting a spruce up at its new home.
The quaint Anglican Church was relocated a year or so or ago to the nearby Wakiti Creek Resort, just a few kilometres south from its original site.
Church services in the church will be no longer held but Wakiti Creek Resort owners are hoping it will become a popular venue for weddings.
More later on this development.
Stubby on ice
That large stubby on the Border Inn Hotel at Moama has disappeared, but it’s only temporary.
Border Inn’s stubby has been put on ice — but just for a little while.
Work on the hotel’s roof as part of extensive refurbishments at the hotel included bringing the giant Carlton Draught bottle down for a much-needed polish.
It will find its way back to where it has kept guard since 1990 when the hotel works are completed within the next few weeks.

Challenge for MP
Long-term Liberal incumbent Sussan Ley may have some serious challengers for the federal seat of Farrer.
Glen Hyde has put his hand up to contest the seat for Labor along with Independent Michelle Milthorpe, who has been endorsed by grassroots movement Voices of Farrer.
Mr Hyde moved to Tocumwal 18 months ago after a career in public service in Canberra as an analyst and educator with the Department of Home Affairs as well as having experience in local government.
Square dinkum
G’day.
