Harley Reid spotted at Deakin Reserve
Hold tight - we’re checking permissions before loading more content
Kyabram Football Netball Club had a budding millionaire running his sharp eye over the Bombers at Deakin Reserve Shepparton last Saturday.
None other than one of the most talked-about footballers of the modern era, Harley Reid, attended the United vs Kyabram game while spending a few days at home in Tongala with his family, away from his duties with the West Coast Eagles.
There are all sorts of theories about why Harley was released during a purple patch of form with the Eagles, but the most plausible explanation seems to be that he wanted to discuss his future plans with his family before making any long-term commitments.
Your photo could be the next phone book cover
Don’t forget the Kyabram Free Press is looking for a photo which could be used on the front page of the Kyabram and district phone book.
It needs to be a photo with a Kyabram and district flavour.
The image must be of high resolution, ideally at last two megabytes.
The phone book is being printed shortly, so send your photos now to phonebooks@mmg.com.au
And good luck.
Say 'I Do' at the Deni Ute Muster
If you are a Deni Ute Muster fan and have also been considering tying the knot, you can kill two birds with one stone this year.
One of several new innovations at this year’s muster will be wedding ceremonies offered in an inflatable church on the site.
The Deni Muster is renowned for its innovative entertainment, and Vicki Lowry, the general manager, is confident that this year’s event will surpass all previous ones.
The muster is scheduled for Friday, October 4, and Saturday, October 5.
For more information, you can access the full schedule at www.deniutemuster.com.au.
Charity event returns with new name
Run Echuca Run is the new name for this year's event, formerly known as Johnno’s Run.
Now in its 11th year, the run raises funds for the Opening Doors Project.
It will be held on Sunday, August 4, starting from the Kerrabee Sound Shell in Moama and crossing both Murray River bridges.
Participants can choose from distances of 21.1km, 10km, and 5km, plus there are sections for juniors.
Community Living and Respite Services organise the event.
Costly creative transportation
What you are looking at cost a motorist $480.
Echuca police recently intercepted this vehicle which obviously didn’t have the capacity to carry this stand-up paddle board. But his passenger came up with this solution which proved considerable dearer that what a roof rack would cost.
As the old adage goes…‘‘it takes all types.’’
Honouring Riverina’s road warriors
If you know a truckie from the Riverina area who deserves recognition nominations are now being sought.
Successful nominations will be inducted into the Deniliquin and District Transport Hall of Fame later this year.
Anyone seeking more information or require assistance with a nomination can contact Mr Greenaune on 0439 790 116 or Warrick Petersen on 0418 379 815.
