The Countess’ pearls have been stolen! Can you help figure out whodunnit in Benalla Theatre Company’s upcoming production of Mystery on the Orient Express?
Helping to solve the crime of the Countess’ (Jess Grant) stolen property are the Inspector (Stephen Winkler), Sherlock Holmes and Watson (Jim Tullberg and Eva Chick), Inspector Gadget (Lochie McNair) and French Gendarme (Jamie Boatwood). As the train travels across Europe there are many who come under suspicion, including grumpy lawn bowlers, the Von Crapp family and a quartet of singing waiters.
Director Molly Craig said the cast members were having a blast putting the show together and rehearsals were filled with laughter. Songs in the show include The Twist, Waterloo, That’s Amore, My Generation, To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before and The Loco-Motion.
There are seven performances that will run over two weekends from June 21 to 29 at the Benalla Town Hall. The four evening shows are cabaret-style, (BYO drinks and nibbles, so get your table together) and the three matinee shows are theatre-style seating. Tickets will go on sale at the beginning of May.
