Distributed locally by Kyabram Blue Light, the vouchers can be used to purchase items such as school uniforms, clothing, shoes, school bags and stationery.
Kyabram Blue Light's First Constable Mitchell Bull said the vouchers would be distributed to families with children enrolled in several Kyabram and district schools, such as Kyabram P-12 College, St Augustine’s College, Tongala Primary School and Rushworth P-12 College.
“Blue Light applied to FRRR to be one of the organisations that they partner up with to distribute the vouchers. It went through a grant application process and we were picked as one of the ones that would benefit the community,” he said.
“The vouchers can be redeemed at K-Mart, Target, Mister Embroidery in Kyabram and Intersport Bennetts in Kyabram. These stores supply the school uniforms and school supplies that students need these days.
“We hope these vouchers help strengthen our connections with local youth, families and the wider community. We recognise the pressures families have been under with home-schooling during the COVID-19 pandemic and we hope this voucher will provide some assistance to recipients and their family, whether it's a new pencil case, a new school shirt or some stationary supplies. Every bit helps.”
