Police say two men aged 29 and 30 were forced into the back of a ute at gun-point about 9.30am on August 3.
They were taken to an unknown area where attackers tortured them with hammers and caused significant injury to their hands, before they were taken to a park in Claymore, in Sydney's southwest and shot.

Police found the 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his torso at a shop, before other officials were called to a Claymore park where the 29-year-old was found with bullet wounds to his head and torso.
Both were taken to hospital with one in a critical condition, but they have both since recovered.
A 26-year-old Oran Park man was charged with three counts of shooting with intent to murder, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of assaulting a person as part of a criminal group and robbery.
A 23-year-old Bradbury man was charged with three counts of shooting with intent to murder, two counts of kidnapping and assaulting a person as part of a criminal group.
A 21-year-old Claymore man and a 22-year-old Eagle Vale man were also charged over the incident.
All four were arrested on Tuesday and will face court.
Police searched properties across six Sydney suburbs on Tuesday, with a fifth perspon - a 24-year-old man - charged with assaulting a police officer and hindering police in the execution of their duty.
He was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station, before being bailed to appear in court on October 10.
Police said their inquiries showed the incident was targeted and allegedly linked to organised crime.
