“We are a local band from Echuca and have been around for a couple of years,” Stumbling North frontman Mark Peterson said.
“We formed organically during COVID and were originally a three-piece.
“For the story’s sake, people couldn’t get across the river at one point, so we needed to do a fill-in gig at Rich River Golf Club.
“The three of us thought we could fill in, and ever since we have been playing gigs, that is how the band formed.
“Then Matt Walsh from Kyabram got on board, which is why we are thrilled to be involved with the Tastes and Tunes.
“We are all local guys.
“Our practice venue is Matt’s place in Kyabram; we practise in a dairy there.”
Stumbling North’s set at Kyabram Tastes and Tunes takes you through the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s, with a little bit of country thrown in.
“We play, I guess, leaning towards country without being country; we do some sing-along, feel-good stuff,” Mark said.
“We are definitely not a rock band, but we play pub classics.
“A bit of Cold Chisel, Aussie Crawl, the Eagles and Creedence, that sort of thing.
“We are playing in little towns in pubs, and it sometimes feels lucky to get to do this.”
Stumbling North is Matt Walsh on bass, Jarrad Johnston on drums, Tim Gilmore on keyboard and lead guitar, and Mark Peterson on vocals and guitar.
