Campaspe Shire Mayor Rob Amos said the range of activities offers something for all ages and in a range of locations around the shire.
“We are pleased to be able to run the program from our newly refurbished library in Rushworth and it’s great to see an activity scheduled at the Colbinabbin library depot too.”
The holiday program features fun and educational activities for various ages and interests, from beading bracelets to rock painting, family pizza and movie nights, and the usual baby and toddler rhymetime sessions.
The holiday program also incorporates the newly launched library teen takeover, which will take place on alternating Wednesdays at the Echuca and Kyabram libraries for the rest of the year.
The following activities and sessions will be offered beginning on Tuesday, April 2, following the Easter long weekend.
Bird feeders: use paddle-pop sticks to build a structure for attracting beautiful birds into your garden. Sessions for children aged five and over are at Kyabram on April 2 at 1pm and Rushworth on April 4 at 10am.
Paddle boats: Make your own paddle boat using simple materials to provide hours of fun in the water. Sessions for children aged five and over are at Kyabram on April 3 at 2pm and Rushworth on April 11 at 3pm.
Lego and games: choose a game to play or build an amazing Lego structure. Free play. Sessions are at Rushworth on April 2 and April 9 from 10.30am to noon and at Kyabram on April 4 from 10.30am to noon.
Storytime: for preschool-aged children. Sessions are on at Kyabram on April 9 at 10.30am.
Toddler rhyme time: for toddlers to enjoy. A session is on at Tongala on April 11 at 11am.
Rock painting: a relaxing activity where you can paint creatures, words, or messages on rocks to decorate your home or garden or give as a gift to someone special. The session, for children aged five and over, is on at Kyabram on April 9 at 2pm.
Bunnings craft: Always a great session with thanks to the team from Bunnings Echuca. The session, for children aged five and over, is on at Kyabram on April 10 at 2pm.
Library teen takeover: Join Kane, Campaspe Shire’s youth officer, for a fun night with pizza and games of Uno. The session, for those aged 12 to 18, is on at Kyabram from 5pm to 7pm on April 10.
Seed and sprout houses: assemble the frame and prepare the seeds to watch your own plant grow over the coming weeks. Sessions for children aged five and over are at Tongala on April 4 at 3pm and Kyabram on April 11 at 1pm.
Wooden garden wind chimes: decorate the supplied wooden house and attached the chimes to hang in your garden. Session is on at Colbinabbin on April 3 at 10.30am.
Canvas art: smooth and mess-free painting activity for children aged five and over to create their own masterpiece. A session is on at Tongala on April 12 at 3pm.
