Photography had been a long-time interest for local identity Cam Thomson, but in retirement, it became his passion.

Cam, who previously operated Kyabram’s East End Garage and was a former mayor of the town, and his second wife, Rae, also a keen photographer, spent much of their retirement years enjoying photography field trips together.
Keen to display his work to best advantage, Cam also sourced various timbers to make the frames himself.
When Cam passed away last year, he left behind a legacy of hundreds of framed photographs. Not only were they hanging on walls in every room of the house, they were also stored in cupboards, wardrobes, drawers and in the garage.
Rae readily admits it’s time to downsize the extensive collection, so an exhibition and sale of Cam’s framed photographs will be held at the Kyabram Uniting Church Hall on bush market day (Friday, November 10) and Saturday, November 11.
Items have been priced to sell and all proceeds from the sale will go towards church funds.
