Head did not field when Australia bowled in the second innings of the drawn third Test at the Gabba due to a groin niggle.
It was after he appeared to be in some discomfort while batting in Australia's second-innings 7(dec)-89, where he scored 17.
The official man of the match was asked about the injury post-match.

"It's just a bit sore. I will be fine," he said when asked about his Boxing Day prospects at the MCG.
Head has carried Australia's batting on his shoulders this series with 409 runs at an average of 81.2.
His 140 in Adelaide set up the 10-wicket win and he backed that up with a blistering 152 at the Gabba to put the hosts in an impregnable position.
Even in the 295-run loss in Perth he was the best of the Australians with a second innings 89.
Australia's batters have mostly been dominated by India spearhead Jasprit Bumrah in this series, but Head has found a counter-punching style to not only survive but prosper against the great fast bowler.
