The Kyabram product — and current Tatura-Hill Top star — will make her open-age debut for her state when she takes to the green against Tasmania in an upcoming Test series.
But to add to the excitement of the past week for the teenager, she was also confirmed as a starter for the under-18 Test series against Tasmania next month.
It gives Cartwright, 17, the rare double of being included in two separate representative squads for her state at the same time — and showcases exactly where Victorian selectors see her progressing as her skills continue to develop.
The women's team selection — where Cartwright will play as a lead for Kylie Whitehead — comes freshly on the back of the Goulburn Valley bowls product being crowned Under-18 Female Player of the Year at Bowls Victoria's awards night and her selection in the inaugural City v Country series held in Bendigo.
“To be considered for any state side is an honour,” Cartwright said.
“I am super excited to be playing alongside the best female Victorian and Australian bowlers.
“My first City v Country series was an awesome competition and I hope to continue my good form throughout the Tasmanian Tests.
“It will be a busy couple of weekends going to Tasmania twice, but I am up for the challenge.”
The under-18 series plays out from July 8-11, with the women's series beginning on July 15.
